Adam Schefter reports that the Dolphins are signing rookie WR Trey Griffey to a contract on Monday.
Griffey, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Colts an undrafted free agent out of Arizona back in May. He stands to make a base salary of $465,000 for the 2017 season.
Griffey reverted to the Colts’ injured reserve after he was waived with an injury designation back in June. However, Indianapolis waived him from injured reserve back in July.
During his college career at Arizona, Griffey caught 79 passes for 1,241 yards receiving and six touchdowns over the course of 35 games.
