According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dolphins have signed former Arizona wide receiver Trey Griffey. Griffey went undrafted this past April and was signed by the Colts just a few days later. He was released by the team in July.
For any baseball fan who finds Griffey’s last name familiar, that would be because he is the son of Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr.
While some may be scratching their heads as to why the Dolphins would add another pass catcher to their already crowded wide receiver room, the answer would be that the team currently has five of those receivers nursing injuries.
