The Miami Dolphins have signed offensive tackle Sam Young, the team announced on Monday. Young had been released by the team on Saturday as they looked to promote Jamiyus Pittman to the active roster to add depth to the defensive line prior to the team’s Week 6 contest against the Chicago Bears. Young now returns to the team and will resume his role as a reserve offensive lineman.
To make roster space for Young, the Dolphins waived safety Maurice Smith. Smith initially joined the Dolphins in May 2017 as an undrafted free agent.
