Dolphins sign Kenyan Drake, completing draft class

DAVIE - The Miami Dolphins signed rookie tailback Kenyan Drake to a four-year deal, finalizing a contract with the last of the team's eight 2016 draft picks.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Tevin Coleman, last year's 73rd pick, landed a four-year contract worth a base salary of $3,219,372, and $745,244 of it was fully guaranteed. Drake will get slightly more.

Drake, who rushed for 1,495 yards, caught 46 passes for 570 yards, and scored 22 touchdowns in his four seasons at Alabama, is expected to compete with Jay Ajayi and Damien Williams for the starting spot, and the role as Miami's pass catching specialist out the backfield.
