The Dolphins filled a need at receiver on Wednesday by signing veteran Brice Butler, who has 73 receptions in 63 NFL games.
The Dolphins were down to three healthy receivers — Danny Amendola, Kenny Stills and Leonte Carroo — after losing DeVante Parker and Jakeem Grant to injuries in last Sunday’s game against Green Bay.
Parker (shoulder) and Grant (leg) are expected to play again at some point this season.
After being selected in the seventh round out of San Diego State in 2013, the 6-foot-3 Butler spent the first two seasons of his career with Oakland, then was traded to Dallas in September 2015.
