The Miami Dolphins signed free-agent cornerback Alterraun Verner on Tuesday and placed linebacker Koa Misi on injured reserve.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released Verner, who turned 28 in December, on Feb. 23 after he started just three games during the 2016 season.
Misi, 30, was limited to just three games last season because of a neck injury and underwent surgery in the offseason. He has accepted a pay cut earlier this season to stay with the team.
Verner had signed a four-year deal worth $25.5 million in 2014, and was scheduled to make $6.
