The Miami Dolphins have started making their 2016 final round of roster cuts, according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Offensive tackle Sam Young appears to be the first player released by the team:
Young, when he signed as a a free agent this offseason, was expected to become the team’s swing tackle as the primary reserve for the Dolphins. He, however, was never able to advance on the depth chart, and the team seems to consider depth at guards the more pressing need, with guard Laremy Tunsil likely the backup at left tackle if needed and Billy Turner likely the right tackle backup.
