The Miami Dolphins announced Saturday that they’ve promoted DL Cameron Malveaux to their active roster and placed S Maurice Smith on the reserve/non-football illness list.
By placing Smith on the NFI list, it officially ends his 2017 season.
Malveaux, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Houston back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Dolphins cut him loose coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.
