The roster purge continues in Miami, as the Dolphins have officially parted ways with defensive end Quinton Coples and cornerback Brice McCain.
2016's salary cap is estimated to be in the neighborhood of $154 million dollars, a hefty number to say the least. Unfortunately, the Dolphins cap obligations entering Friday had them about $5 million over that number, which led to the need to make these moves.
Cutting Coples - an expected move - saves the Dolphins approximately $7.8 million dollars in cap space, all of which would've had to be given to the former Jets defensive end had he remained on the roster.
