MIAMI GARDENS - Miami Dolphins linebacker Jelani Jenkins suffered a left hand injury in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the New York Jets.
Jenkins, a three-year starter for the Dolphins, opened the game as Miami's starting weakside linebacker despite being limited to playing exclusively in the nickel package the past couple of games.
Following the Dolphins bye week Miami's coaches allowed Jenkins to replace Neville Hewitt in the base package, but that only last a couple of series because of the hit Jenkins took on a Jalin Marshall reception.
