Dolphins' (lack of) depth could be their undoing

At least nine key Dolphins missed four or more games last season -- center Mike Pouncey (four games/back), left tackle Branden Albert (seven games/knee), strong safety Reshad Jones (four games/suspension), middle linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (15 games/hip), middle linebacker Koa Misi (four games/ankle), running back Knowshon Moreno (10 games/elbow, knee), guard Shelley Smith (four games/knee), and cornerbacks Cortland Finnegan (four games/ankle) and Jamar Taylor (four games/shoulder).

This is where depth factors into success.

And this is what’s worrisome about this year’s team. It’s the major reason I picked the Dolphins to finish 8-8 this season.

Just as a year ago, I’m not convinced this Dolphins roster has enough quality depth to carry them through the injuries and into the playoffs.
