DAVIE (CBSMiami/AP) — Miami Dolphins’ Jason Jones is out for the next two games.
The defensive end was suspended without pay for for violating the NFL substance abuse policy. The suspension stemmed from Jones’ arrest last offseason for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, a person familiar with the situation said Monday.
The person confirmed the arrest to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the reason for the suspension was not publicly disclosed.
In a statement issued through the team, Jones apologized to his teammates, his coaches and the organization. The Dolphins also released a statement from the organization.
