Dolphins guard Billy Turner and soon-to-be first-round NFL draft pick Carson Wentz were teammates for three seasons at North Dakota State.
Turner knows Wentz well and he isn’t surprised that he will likely be selected toward the top of Thursday’s NFL Draft.
“He’s a smart guy, he was a 4.0 student athlete,” Turner said. “Anybody that plays at the Division-I level and maintains a 4.0, it says a lot about their character.”
Wentz was a backup during Turner’s three seasons on the Bison’s offensive line from 2011 to 2013.
But Wentz did receive playing time as a redshirt freshman and sophomore.
