Dolphins exploring numerous draft options at NFL scouting combine

It seems apparent the Dolphins need steer their draft focus toward a number of key defensive positions, namely cornerback, defensive end/pass rusher, and linebacker. But the Dolphins are scouring the NFL scouting combine for players at a wide variety of positions because they don’t know what’s going to happen in free agency.

“To me, it’s never about the free agent priorities, it’s the offseason priorities,” Mike Tannenbaum, the Dolphins executive vice president of football operations, said Wednesday at the combine.

Tannenbaum said among himself, coach Adam Gase, general manager Chris Grier, director of pro personnel Anthony Hunt, director of player personnel Joe Schoen, and Dawn Aponte, executive vice president of football administration, they’ve “looked at constant scenarios.
