Earlier this morning we took a look back at the Miami Dolphins’ Week 17 contest against the New England Patriots. Now, we continue that review of the game, turning to the defensive side of the ball.
Miami’s defense has been decimated by injuries all season, with both starting safeties and a starting linebacker on injured reserve, a defensive tackle spending most of the season on injured reserve before being reactivated, another starting linebacker sidelined by injuries, the third starting linebacker having missed time and playing with a cast on his arm, a starting cornerback sidelined by an ankle injury, the rookie starting cornerback having missed time, and a Pro Bowl defensive end being used sparingly to start the season due to a return from an Achilles tear.
