McClendon was previously cut to make room for Brenner on the 53-man roster, and according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the release was based on financial reasons, as his contract would have been guaranteed if he had been on the roster on 4 P.M. this past Saturday.
Gray was brought onto the 53-man roster just a couple days ago, and was left inactive for the game against the Washington Redskins. According to Barry Jackson, the Dolphins are bringing Gray back onto the practice squad.
The Dolphins are apparently moving players around to see who will turn out to be the best choice, and there are likely going to be more moves made as time goes on.
