Last year, the Miami Dolphins had few positions where they struggled more than linebacker. Philip Wheeler was just plain bad, and Dannell Ellerbe‘s injury that kept him out all year did not help either. The reality is, the Dolphins need someone other than Jason Trusnik – a glorified and permanent special teamer – to step up and take control of the linebacker position, especially now that Dion Jordan has been suspended for the entire 2015 season.
Nobody on the Dolphins current roster is in a better position to step into a more permanent role than Chris McCain, who was arguably Miami’s best special teams player last year.
