DAVIE, Fla. -- New Miami Dolphins cornerback Byron Maxwell isn't one to mince words. When asked Tuesday why he left the Seattle Seahawks two years ago, Maxwell was direct and candid.
"Cash flow, all day," Maxwell said. "They were close. But I can't make that back in my lifetime. So I had to go."
The Philadelphia Eagles broke the bank for Maxwell and gave him a six-year contract worth $63 million, with $25 million guaranteed in 2015. However, Maxwell struggled in his first season with the Eagles and was promptly traded this offseason to the Dolphins, who restructured his contract.
