Dolphins CB Byron Maxwell did “fine job” vs. Brandon Marshall, says Miami DC

DAVIE — According to Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, a bad cornerback has 10 penalties halfway through the NFL season.

Joseph says Byron Maxwell has “three or four.”

“I’m fine with ‘Max.’” Joseph said of Maxwell on Wednesday. “‘Max’ competed hard last week, and did a fine job.”

Maxwell and Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall hand-fought, jawed and battled from start to finish, with Marshall verbally trashing Maxwell after the game.

Marshall did draw two penalties when Maxwell held him. But Joseph, who is direct and candid, has not recently been displeased with Maxwell, who has made some improvement since the beginning of the season.
