The Miami Dolphins have benched cornerback Byron Maxwell for Thursday night's game at Cincinnati and will start Tony Lippett in his place.
Miami acquired Maxwell along with linebacker Kiko Alonso and the No. 13 overall pick from the Eagles in exchange for the No. 8 overall pick. The Eagles used that pick as part of the package of picks they traded to the Browns for the No. 2 overall pick, with which they selected quarterback Carson Wentz.
Maxwell signed a six-year, $63 million contract with the Eagles in 2015, leaving the Seahawks as a free agent, but lasted just one season in Philadelphia.
