A certain former White House press secretary says the Patriots are “a mess” in the wake of Deflategate, but it’s a mess he takes pleasure in observing.
Ari Fleischer is the man, and in a Washington Post story, he talks about coach Bill Belichick’s remarkable economy of words to say absolutely nothing.
“This is a great time to be Belichick, because he has a lengthy history of speaking in an infinite loop to nowhere,” Fleischer said. “There’s nothing he should say, and nothing he can say, to mollify people.
“Belichick is shutting down the conversation, and he can get away with it.
