MOBILE, Ala.—The Dolphins’ rise to 10-6 and a playoff berth in coach Adam Gase’s first year was one of the biggest surprises in the NFL this year, but it wasn’t shocking to everyone.
Bears coach John Fox, Gase’s boss for five years in Denver and Chicago, said he watched plenty of Miami footage while scouting his opponents this year and saw Gase’s fingerprints all over the Dolphins’ success.
“It was tremendous,” Fox said Tuesday after Senior Bowl practices, where he is coaching the North team. “Adam’s a fine football coach. When we first joined up back with the Broncos, he’d been the receivers coach and I hired him as a quarterback coach.
