SEATTLE -- Miami Dolphins running back Arian Foster knew that the timing of taking a stance would add to the ongoing controversy.
It was something Foster and teammates Kenny Stills, Jelani Jenkins and Michael Thomas thought about this week before making the decision to take a knee during the national anthem prior to Sunday's season opener -- on the 15th anniversary of Sept. 11.
The four Dolphins players proceeded with their message against what they consider the oppression of minorities in the U.S. and took the heat that came with it afterward.
