The Miami Dolphins have not yet made it official but it is being reported that un-drafted rookie Andrew Franks has won the kicking job in Miami. The news comes only days after veteran punter Brandon Fields lost his job to un-drafted rookie Matt Darr. Caleb Sturgis may find it hard to find another job immediately in the NFL.
A former 5th round pick by Jeff Ireland, Sturgis has been highly inconsistent after a strong start his rookie season. Completing just 77.5% of his kicks, Sturgis was a player that was waiting to be replaced. In addition to failing in his field goal duties, Sturgis struggled getting the ball out of the end-zone on kick-offs.
