DAVIE – The Miami Dolphins haven’t changed any of the team’s coordinators, but new interim coach Dan Campbell did add long-time assistant Al Saunders to his staff.
Saunders, who was the head coach of the Chargers from 1986-88, has been hired as a senior offensive assistant.
Saunders, 68, has 40 years of coaching experience, including 32 in the NFL. He has previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Chiefs (2001-05), assistant head coach for the Redskins (2006-07), offensive coordinator for the Rams (2008) and offensive consultant for the Ravens (2009-2010).
Saunders was most recently the Raiders’ offensive coordinator in 2011, and spent the last three years as a senior offensive assistant in Oakland.
