When the Dolphins were on the clock at pick number 139 overall in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, there was a player that surprisingly was still on the board. Boise State running back Jay Ajayi, a bruising back with all the attributes of a three down back -a breed that’s found few and far between these days- was available, and the Dolphins struck quickly, selecting him with that very pick and giving Miami a powerful change up back behind starter Lamar Miller.
