In the last 50 years the Dolphins have held the 13th overall pick only two times. In 1977 the Dolphins selected A.J. Duhe. Duhe had a very good career with the Dolphins until injuries shortened his career to eight seasons. In 1981 the Dolphins selected running back David Overstreet.
Overstreet had all the tools to be a very good runner in the NFL and the Dolphins expected him to become a major force on their offense. Overstreet opted to sign with the CFL after a contract dispute with the Dolphins. In 1983 he joined the Dolphins.
