Anquan Boldin’s community efforts are no secret in Pahokee, where he attended high school and hosts the annual Q-Fest to support the area’s underprivileged youth. It’s also where his name adorns the high school’s football stadium in recognition of his financial contributions.
Now, his contributions are being recognized on the other side of the country.
Boldin, a receiver, was the San Francisco 49ers’ nominee for the annual Walter Peyton NFL Man of the Year Award.
Each team nominates one player and the winner is announced at the Super Bowl.
The Dolphins’ nominee is quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
