The Miami Dolphins could make changes to their coaching staff if the team can't beat the New York Jets, according to NFL.com.
The Dolphins were a popular pick to make the playoffs, but a 1-2 start has damped expectations and optimism.
"If the team loses three in a row, don't be shocked if someone on that coaching staff gets fired," a well-placed source told NFL.com.
It was playoffs or bust for head coach Joe Philbin this season, and the 1-2 start has him firmly on the hot seat.
The team might not fire him after a 1-3 start, but the same can't be said of defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle and offensive coordinator Bill Lazor.
NFL.com reports, "multiple sources inside and around the franchise indicate there is widespread frustration among the players with certain members of the coaching staff. A meaningful portion of that discontent stems from -- what some players believe to be -- flawed offensive and defensive play-calling."
