Foster went undrafted out of Tennessee in 2009, but signed on with the Houston Texans, where he spent the next seven seasons of his career. He made four Pro Bowls during his time in Houston, led the league in rushing touchdowns in 2010 and 2012, and led the NFL in rushing yards in 2010. He was also a first-team All-NFL selection that season.
The Texans decided to release Foster this offseason after he ruptured his Achilles, finishing his Houston career with 6,472 yards and 54 rushing touchdowns, both franchise records.
He signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins in July, but was limited by injuries again. He only had 55 yards on 22 carries with no touchdowns this season.
