In today's Dolphins news update, second-year offensive lineman Dallas Thomas was a virtual non-fact for the Miami Dolphins during the 2013 NFL season.
However, fast forward to this season's OTAs, and Thomas could find himself in a starting role for the club come the beginning of the 2014 regular season.
According to James Walker of ESPN.com, "not much was expected of Thomas, especially after the Dolphins drafted a similar player in 2014 third-round pick Billy Turner. But Thomas showed up for offseason workouts in good shape and is flashing good athleticism. He’s done enough to earn the inside track on the starting left guard position next to Pro Bowl left tackle Branden Albert."
However, the biggest test is yet to come for Thomas. If he can continue his momentum when the team begins to don pads and goes full-contact, then he will most likely find himself slotted into said starting role.
If not, the edge may go to Turner.
