The 2015 Miami Dolphins have their sights set on the Super Bowl following a very intriguing spring, but there’s still plenty to be sorted out as we move towards the long summer ahead. Here’s the Top 3 Miami Dolphins Storylines To Watch In 2015.
1) What impact will Ndamukong Suh have?
Miami signed Suh to the largest contract given to a defensive player in league history, hoping to form one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Dolphins ranked in the top 13 in the league in both yards and points allowed last season, and ranked 10th against the run. Suh figures to give Miami a major boost in all of those categories - but there will be a lot of pressure on him to live up to his contract.
2) Can Ryan Tannehill take the next step?
Tannehill looks like he's on his way to becoming one of the NFL's top quarterbacks as he threw for 4,045 yards and 27 touchdowns last season, and the Dolphins rewarded him with a massive contract extension. While his numbers are productive, Tannehill has yet to lead the Dolphins to the playoffs and has faltered down the stretch in each of the last two seasons. Miami has now invested in him and are counting on him to continue progressing, but he has to take the Dolphins to the postseason for this season to be considered a success for him.
3) Will Lamar Miller become the guy in the backfield?
Miller rushed for over five yards per carry in 2014, posting his first 1,000-yard rushing season (1,099) while crossing the goal line eight times on the ground. Add in his work as a developing safety valve for Ryan Tannehill in the passing game (38 receptions, 275 yards, 1 TD in 2014), and Miami has a fantasy football breakout candidate in its midst.
