The Miami Dolphins made Ndamukong Suh the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history, so they might cut the league's second highest-paid punter to save some financial flexibility.
According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are prepared to release Fields if he doesn't take a significant pay cut.
Fields is owed $3.5 million in 2015, but is coming off of one of the worst seasons in his career, averaging 46.3 yards per punt.
