The Miami Dolphins are likely to lose reliable backup quarterback Matt Moore to a team desperate for options at the position, the team will likely be in the market for a veteran arm to place behind emerging leader Ryan Tannehill on the depth chart.
The crop of veteran options at the position are less than eye-popping ending into free agency on March 10th, but Andrew Abramson sees Green Bay Packers perennial backup Matt Flynn as a viable option - especially with his ties to Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin.
"It was only three years ago that Flynn seemed like a logical starting quarterback for the Dolphins," Abramson wrote. "Newly-hired coach Joe Philbin had been the offensive coordinator in Green Bay when Flynn broke out late in the season as an injury-replacement for Aaron Rodgers."
With the team's salary cap issues heading into 2015, Flynn could present a cost-effective option for the team - provided the Packers aren't willing to play ball and retain Flynn to sit behind Aaron Rodgers.
