There's not a lot of clarity at the moment when it comes to Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin's future with the organization, but the team's performance in these last two games along with a possible recruitment of San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh by the front office may be the determining factors.
As Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald noted prior to Sunday's contest against the Minnesota Vikings, "his coaching tenure in Miami is not over and might not end after this season if, despite the troubles of the past few weeks, he can win this one and the season finale and a flirtation with Jim Harbaugh fails."
Multiple reports have linked Harbaugh to the Jets and Raiders, while his old alma mater, the Michigan Wolverines, appear to have the inside track on landing him. However, owner Stephen Ross could very well make a play for the coveted coach, despite reportedly not having discussed a coaching change.
In truth, it's a very mixed-up situation for Joe Philbin at the moment that will likely provide more questions than answers until the offseason kicks into gear.
