In Dolphins rumors today, the Miami Dolphins may be looking to take a gamble on a standout tight end attempting to battle back from a spinal injury which many thought was career-threatening.
So says Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald: "The Dolphins had conversations with the agent for free agent tight end Jermichael Finley and said they could have interest if he’s cleared to resume his career after neck surgery. But other teams have been more pro-active. Joe Philbin was offensive coordinator during part of Finley's tenure with the Packers."
Jermichael Finley suffered a bruise to his spinal cord last season, and there is no exact timetable on when or if the former Green Bay Packers standout will return to the NFL.
However, both Finley and his agent are keeping an optimistic outlook on Finley's progress, believing that he progressing admirably through his rehab and could be useful to an NFL team come the start of the 2014 NFL season.
It remains to be seen if the Dolphins will be that team.
