The Miami Dolphins have plenty of things to address in free agency, both in-house and out of it, but it appears there's at least one name they'll likely have to let walk - coveted backup quarterback Matt Moore.
Here's PhinPhantic's Brian Miller with the lowdown:
Moore is entering his 2nd free agent period in three seasons and he could see a little bit of action on the open market. The Dolphins can’t make him a priority even though good back-ups are hard to find. Moore has been inconsistent but he does know the Dolphins offense even if we haven’t truly seen him run the style of Bill Lazor. What we do know is enough to think that he could be back in Miami but not as a priority signing. Frankly we have seen Moore struggle in games and he isn’t a guy that will come off the bench and immediately give the team a spark to take a victory. Yet at the same time he isn’t a caretaker and takes chances that he likely shouldn’t take.
In truth, there are too many teams in the NFL with less-secure quarterback situations who may give Moore a look at starter for the Dolphins to really be in the same ballpark with him when it comes to free-agent negotiations after March 10th, unless something unforeseen takes place.
