Current Miami Dolphins coaches and players have remained relatively quiet in the aftermath of Tom Brady's four-game suspension for his role in DeflateGate. However, former star Dolphins WR Mark Clayton had a field day recently joking at Brady and the New England Patriots' expense.
"Well, yeah, he got caught — this game," Clayton said of Brady's role in the pre-AFC Championship Game controversy, via the Sun Sentinel.
"He's been playing in New England for a long time; it still was getting cold up there all those other years. So you don't know how many other times it happened."
Clayton wasn't done having fun with the Patriots' misfortune.
"They would never do things against the rules," Clayton said sarcastically about the Pats. "They would never film anybody's practices and they would really even try to read other people's lips that's trying to signal in their plays. They wouldn't do that."
He's also convinced that Tom Brady had some sort of hand in the DeflateGate scandal, protestations or no.
"I just think somebody did something that wasn't supposed to do something," Clayton said of Brady. "And I'm not sure if anybody who they're blaming now (Brady) touched an air needle or put it in the ball, but I'm sure they had their ways of instructing people to do the things that needed to be done because that's how they like their balls."
