In Dolphins news tonight, the Miami Dolphins have released three players on the last day of rookie mini-camp: defensive back Deion Belue along with offensive linemen David Hurd and Michael Ola.
Here's Mike Wilkening of Pro Football Talk with the lowdown on the short-time Dolphins who are now looking for employment elsewhere: "Belue and Hurd are undrafted free agents who signed with the club on May 12. Belue (5-11, 182) played at Alabama, while Hurd (6-6, 308) is an Arkansas product. Ola (6-3, 278) most recently played for the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes."
By releasing Belue, Hurd, and Ola, the Dolphins have opened three roster spots. Per the team's official online roster, they are now at 87 players - leading to thoughts that the team may be active in the remaining pool of undrafted free agents in order to perhaps find a diamond in the rough or two.
Full organized team activities (OTAs) begin on Tuesday, so it is possible we may see some signings sooner rather than later.
