In April 2011, Dolphin’s wide receiver, Brandon Marshall, was stabbed by his wife of less than one year after a domestic dispute. The stab wound to his abdomen sent him to the intensive care unit. At the time of the stabbing, he lied to the police and said he slipped and fell on a broken vase that had no evidence of blood on it. His wife admitted to stabbing him, but claimed to do so in self-defense.
Mr. and Mrs. Marshall are no stranger to domestic disputes. Shortly after their February 2009 engagement, the couple was involved in a domestic dispute that landed both of them in an Atlanta jail for disorderly conduct. Charges were later dismissed. His history of off the field disturbances is what caused the Broncos to decide against investing in a multimillion-dollar contract, despite his three consecutive 100-catch seasons. On Friday, June 10, the couple got into another domestic dispute, which ended in Michi Nogami-Marshall’s arrest caused by violation of a restraining order put into place after the stabbing.
To date, the wide receiver, has not attended any of the player-organized workouts although it has been said that he is fully recovered. His teammate, Devon Bess, has said that Marshall is in fact getting ready for the 2011 season, but is going through a lot. Let’s hope Marshall can get it together. Last season, in 14 games, he caught 86 passes for 1,014 yards.
