The Miami Dolphins were a disappointment in 2017, failing to convert last year's playoff appearance into anything of substance as they finished with a 6-10 record. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill should be back and fully recovered from the torn ACL he suffered in the preseason, but if this team wants to get back to the playoffs next season, they need some upgrades in major areas. Here are the Dolphins' three biggest positional needs:
1) Running back
Kenyan Drake and Damian Williams are both nice backs, but neither proved they could be relied on as an every down, true No. 1 back like Jay Ajayi was. With a loaded class of running backs in this year's draft, expect for Miami to address that need early. LSU's Derrius Guice is the guy they're likely targeting.
2) Offensive guard/tackle
Upgrading the offensive line is another big area to address for Miami and go with either a guard or tackle depending on if they want to keep Laremy Tunsil at left tackle or move him back inside, where he played as a rookie. This class is also loaded at the top with quality offensive linemen, and if one of the better prospects falls to them at No. 11, they may very well pounce.

3) Quarterback
There's a good chance that Tannehill may not be the long-term answer in Miami. Now going into his seventh season in the league, Tannehill has never performed above the level of an average quarterback, and there's no guarantee he'll be the same after the ACL injury. So, with a young offense, why not invest in a quarterback? They may not spend a first-round pick on one, but if Adam Gase falls in love with a guy, don't rule it out.
