2015 NFL Draft: Miami Dolphins Select DeVante Parker

With the 14th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select DeVante Parker out of Louisville.

Position: Wide Receiver

Measurables: 6’3”, 209 lbs, 33 ¼” arm length, 9 ¼” hands

Analysis:

Parker missed the first seven games of his senior season with a foot injury, but he exploded upon his return with 43 catches for 855 yards and five touchdowns in six games -- earning a second-team All-ACC spot despite missing over half of the 2014 campaign. Tied for the Louisville school record with 33 career touchdown catches, Parker had 10 100-yard receiving games over his collegiate career and finished his sophomore year (2012) with a touchdown in six-straight games.

One of the most controlled and measured wide receivers on the board, Parker’s soft hands and laser-like focus serves him well as he had just three credited drops from 2012-14. That dependability is made even more deadly by his outstanding catch radius and ability to create big plays through elusiveness rather than breakneck speed. Given the lead role in a West Coast offense, Parker can be a true #1 at the NFL level.
