WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The University of Memphis women's tennis team advanced one doubles entry to the consolation semifinals on day one of the Purdue Invitational, Friday.
The team of Kathryn Hughes and Janina Berres dropped their opening round match, 6-4, to Louisville's team of Suswam and Boesing, but bounced back with a 6-3 win over the Miami (Ohio) team of Rodriguez and Struble to advance to a Saturday semifinal against another Miami (Ohio) pairing, facing the team of Shteyn and Shapovalova at 9 a.m., Saturday.
In singles play, play moved indoors and all tree Lady Tigers entries will both move to the consolation draw.
