MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's tennis team (11-7) earned a top five seed and will receive a first round bye at the American Athletic Conference Championship tournament that begins Wednesday. With the opening round bye, number five seeded Memphis will open play on Thursday, re-matching with number four seeded Cincinnati, the last team the Lady Tigers played in the regular season, at 11 a.m. (CT).
Cincinnati won the last meeting between the two teams in Cincinnati 4-1. Memphis, who was playing back-to-back road matches, had just picked up a win at Xavier, 4-2, the day before.
