BOSTON, Mass. – An early advantage wasn't enough as Memphis women's tennis dropped a 4-1 decision at Harvard Sunday afternoon to close the weekend.
The Tigers posted a win in doubles to take a 1-0 match lead, but the Crimson responded with four wins in singles action.
Harvard gained an edge in doubles after taking the top spot, but juniors and evened the point with a 6-2 win on court 2. and forced a tiebreak on court 3, and after an early 3-0 lead, recorded a 7-3 tiebreak win to clinch doubles.
Memphis couldn't carry the momentum into singles play, however, as Harvard tallied straight-set wins in the middle of the lineup to complete the comeback.
