Women’s Golf Holds 15 Stroke Lead at the End of Day One

MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's golf team holds a 15-stroke lead at the end of the first day of play at the Missouri State/Payne Stewart Memorial tournament. Memphis scored 293-287 in the opening two rounds for a 580, a 15 stroke lead over Murray State.

Memphis built the lead with four players in the top 10, including individual leader Michaela Fletcher. Fletcher followed her opening round 72 with a 689 in the second round to lead the field at 141 through 36 holes. She was the lone golfer of the 90 entries to end the first round under par.
