Women’s Golf Fifth Through Day One at Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. –The Memphis women's golf team is in the top five following the completion of day one at the Charleston Invitational at the Rivertowne Country Club in Mt. Pleasant.

Memphis shaved four strokes off its first round 297 in the second round Monday afternoon. The Lady Tigers' 293 kept them in a tie for fifth at 590 with North Florida. Coastal Carolina leads the field with a 573 (-3) while Campbell is second at 581. East Carolina (588) and Middle Tennessee (589) are just ahead of Memphis to make up the top five.

Senior Emily Goldenstein again tied her season low round with a second round 69 keeping her just outside of the top five in a tie for sixth at 143 (-1).
