MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's golf team is eighth following an opening round 300 in the first round of the Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, South Carolina, Friday. Daytona State leads the field after going -4 (284) in the first round. Virginia Tech (288), Furman (293) and Middle Tennessee State (295) round out the top four. Three teams are tied for fifth two strokes ahead of the Tigers: East Tennessee State, Kennesaw State and UNC Wilmington.
Michaela Fletcher led Memphis through the opening round, carding a 71 (-1).
