MEMPHIS – Redshirt junior Anki Wind came back from a 6-2 opening set loss to upend #36 ranked Bea Machado Santos of Missouri, 2-6, 7-5, 6-0 in her first singles match back after missing most of last spring due to injury.
"It was a good day for Memphis," Head Coach Hayden Perez said. "It is exciting to watch the team compete today for the first time this fall. This tournament will serve as an indication of where we are now and what we need to work on. Anki's effort stood out to me today; she has worked hard to get back to where she is and this only validates it.
