MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis Tigers forward DeAndre Williams has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week after his efforts in a pair of wins against Wichita State and Cincinnati last week.
It marks Williams' first-career Player of the Week recognition from the conference and the sixth of the season for the Tigers.
Last week, Williams averaged 27.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in 35.1. minutes per game against the Shockers and Bearcats
He started the week with a monster game, the best of his Memphis career. He dropped a season best 29 points and matches his career high with 15 rebounds in an 88-78 victory at home against WSU.
